For the past few months, I've been trolling Craigslist for a card catalog. I'm not sure where I first got the idea, but once I got it in my head, I couldn't shake it. From time to time, I searched, but usually turned up nothing. If I found anything, it was either junk or ridiculously expensive.
And then, one Saturday morning, I found it:
A card catalog just for me! A quick call to the owner and the husband were on our way that afternoon. It was a beast to move (and that is putting it mildly), but we finally got it to our garage, where it sat for the past week until I cleaned it up.
This afternoon, my brother stopped by and helped the husband move it to one of the spare bedrooms. I am going to use it for craft and decorating supplies. I also have plans to put casters on the feet to lift it up a little bit. I think that originally, it had short legs. The middle of the card catalog pulls out to take notes on, which I love.

JEALOUS!!!! Oh my goodness! I search for card catalogs all the time on craigslist.
That is SO COOL!!! I am jealous. Love the pull out table too - how unique!
I saw a celebrity in a magazine once with one of these. I think she stored jewelry in it.
I'm so jealous! I love it! I'll have to keep checking out craigslist and hope I find one too.
Holy smokes! I wish I had thought of this!!

I love card catalogs! I found one in an antique store but it was way too expensive - I never would have thought to check craigslist.
I think this is a great idea! I know Martha Stewart has one which she uses.
That is the coolest thing ever!!!!
Okay, that is AMAZING! I've been reading your blog for a while, but I had to de-lurk and comment. I feel like I am secretly a librarian at heart, and this just makes my mouth water! OMG! :)
