artscow.com - good deal or bad idea?

About a month ago, I saw a deal for artscow.com - 4 10x14 prints for $4.99 shipped. I'd never heard of the site, but it didn't look half bad - I mean, it's cluttered and busy, but I figured it was fine. I uploaded 4 photos from our wedding, gave my credit card number, and didn't think much about it.

My order was placed on September 16th, and shipped on September 18th. The site said to allow 6-12 business days. So I waited.

And waited.

Around the first week of October, I looked on their website for contact information so I could give them a call. I found a 800 number, a Hong Kong long distance number, and a US address - no number. I started to wonder. I emailed them and received a choppy email telling me to wait longer. So I did, and finally, FINALLY, this week, on the 14th, almost a month after ordering my cheapo prints, I received them.

And the verdict? The quality is okay, but they came shipped in a tight roll and they're currently under some heavy books to flatten them out. The paper is on the thin side. I plan on putting them in some new frames on our photo wall upstairs. I'm not sure if I'll use the site again. They have crazy good deals, but a month to receive my order?! I have a feeling some people around the holidays will be left empty-handed when it comes to their gifts!

allposters.com is more expensive, but their customer service is amazing. The products are quality and they ship asap. Most of the prints in my house are from them. :D

Sounds kind of sketchy. I just ordered a few wedding prints from Mpix.com. We blew up pictures from our honeymoon from there and loved the quality.

I could have written this exact same post. But for $4.99, I'll take it! Now, I just need to find some good frames.
